7(omit5)-Akkorde werden öfter gespielt als geschrieben. Die Quinte (5, bei D7 das a) ist für den Klang des 7-Akkordes kaum entscheidend, Terz (fis) und kleine Septime © sind viel, viel wichtiger, sogar wichtiger als der Grundton (d).

Der C7-Akkord (x32310) ist ein sehr bekannter Griff, bei dem die 5 \"omitted\" wird. Schiebe diesen Akkord um 2 Bünde nach oben (x5453x) und du hast einen echten D7(omit5).
